Brumley, 61, of Houston, Tex., died on Thursday, June 19, at 12:50 p.m., after an extended illness. Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 21, at 2 p.m., at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Roy Parham, and the Rev. C. C. Pierce officiating. Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Rachel Brumley of Houston; five sons, Tommy, Carman, Kenneth, Nathan, and Ronald Brumley, all of Houston; his mother, Mrs. Vinnie Brumley of Haughton; four brothers, J. W. Brumley of Shreveport, Marlin Brumley of Haughton, Jasper Brumley of Baker, and Dean Brumley of Longview, Tex.; three sisters, Mrs. Effie Savell of Many, Mrs. Jennie Gandy of Shreveport, and Mrs. Oneda Brown of Silsbee, Tex.; and 9 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Elgy Heridge, Paul Postel, Melvin Martin, Eldon Hall, P. D. Simmons, and Laverne Brumley.
