Barnhill, 83, of Shreveport, were held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, at the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Campbell, and the Rev. Gerald Trussell, pastor, and associate pastor of Queensborough Baptist Church, officiated at the services. Masonic graveside services and burial followed at Forest Park West Cemetery. Mr. Barnhill died at 7:05 a.m., Monday, April 23, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, after a lengthy illness. A Mitchell native, he was a maintenance employee of the Caddo Parish Highway Department. He was a World War I veteran of the infantry, a member of Fair Park Masonic Lodge, and Queensborough Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Ona A. Barnhill; one daughter, Mrs. W. F. Peyton of Shreveport; three sisters, Mrs. Floyd Sistrunk of Converse, Mary Allbritton of Bastrop, and Thelma Williams of Monticello, Ark.; eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be members of the Fair Park Masonic Lodge.
