The Rev. William O. Busby officiated. Burial was in Old Raymer Cemetery in Ashland, La. Mrs. Barnhill died Friday, February 15, 1985, at Jackson Parish Hospital, after a brief illness. She was a retired school teacher from the Natchitoches Parish School System. She is survived by one son, Clayton Barnhill of Shreveport; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Shelton of Shreveport, and Mrs. Dottie Mendez of Scotts Bluff, Nebraska; one brother, Judge Welborn Ayres of Shreveport; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Larry Ayres, Bruce Ayres, Harmon Ayres, Larry Norris, R. V. Walsworth, and Charlie Pyles.
