The Rev. Bob Philips officiated. Burial was held in the Converse Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mrs. Brumley died on Tuesday, June 9, at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, La. Mrs. Brumley's life was dedicated to serving her family, her Lord, and her church. Her life fulfilled Proverbs 31:28, "Her children arise up, and call her blessed, her husband also, and he praiseth her.", for the joy of her life was her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife and faithful companion for 44 years. Mrs. Brumley loved her church, and faithfully served as church clerk and chairman of the Hostess Committee for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baptist Children's Home of First Baptist Church in Converse. She is survived by her husband, Cecil Brumley of Converse, La.; two sons, Bobby Brumley, and Harold Brumley, both of Converse; one daughter, Beverly Hanberry of Larose, La.; three sisters, Kathleen Levinston of Lake Charles, La., Almalee Pitman of Lake Charles, La., Faye Winslow of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Henry Bordelon Jr. of Lake Charles, La.; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation for Mrs. Brumley was held in the funeral home Thursday, June 11, after 10:30 a.m.
