All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - August 10, 1988 Don Virgil Barnhill Funeral services for Don Virgil Barnhill of Shreveport were held on Friday, August 5, at 4 p.m. at the Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Wayne Dubose, pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church, officiated. He was assisted by Assoicate Pastor Rev. Eddie DeHondt. Burial was in the Centuries Memorial Park. Barnhill, a longtime resident of Many and former co-owner of Barnhill Brothers and B & B Oil, died Thursday, August 4 at Schumpert Hospital following a short illness. A former member of the Many first Baptist Church, he had transferred his membership to Summer Grove Baptist church shortly after moving to Shreveport in 1982. Survivors include his widow, Eloise Barnhill of Shreveport; three daughters, Susan Mason of Monroe, Peggy Zaorsky of Alexandria, and Polly Johnson of Palm Beach, Fla.; one son, Joe Barnhill of Monroe; one sister, Julie Lites of Many; two brothers, Raymond Barnhill of Many and Randy Barnhill of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, Robin and Bambi Freeman, of Monore; Mikila and Linnzi Zaorsky of Alexandria, Ryan, Noah and Amy Barnhill, all of Monroe; and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were his nephews, Benny Barnhill, Dale Barnhill, Jimmy Lites, Danny Lites, Tracy Lites and Onnie Rambin.
