Huey P. Tarpley officiating. Burial was in a Lafayette cemetery under direction of Hixon Bros., Pineville. Barnhill, 76, of Philadelphia community was a retired chef of a seismographic ship for Mobil Oil Co. He was a native of Converse and a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a deacon of Philadelphia Baptist Church and a member of Gideons International. Survivors include his wife, Ray Stewart Barnhill of Philadelphia community; one son, Daniel Barnhill of Grand Coteau; one daughter, Janell B. Davies of San Diego, Calf.; five brothers, George Barnhill of Montgomery, Tom Barnhill of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Phillip Ray Barnhill of Waco, Texas, Floyd Barnhill of Tallulah and Ronnie Barnhill of Monroe; four sisters, Ruby Coonce of Haughton, Calif., Audie Smith of Port Neches, Texas, Mary Alice Folds of Delhi and Frances Jack of Monroe; and one grandchild. Pallbearers were Allen Beasley, Martin Barron, Howard C. Smith, Don Folds, J. Paul Folds, Jr. and J. Paul Folds Sr. Honorary pallbearers were deacons of Philadelphia Baptist Church.
