Brumley, age 78, who died April 4, were conducted at Many First Baptist Church, at 3 p.m., April 5, with Rev. Kelly Fitzgerald, and Rev. D. L. Goodman officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home, with Masonic rites at graveside. Pallbearers were T. M. Phillips, Melvin Wright, Clark Pouncey, Horace Tompkins, O. B. Campbell, Herbert Gandy, Carl Haynes, Troy Britt. Honorary pallbearers were D. D. Thedford, Noah Wooley, Wayne Phillips, J. C. Ritter, Eugene Wright, Thomas Self, J. H. Ritter, James Stewart, A. L. Head, P. B. Colvin. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Ella Dew Brumley of Many; four sons, J. A. of Many, Vance of Corsicana, Cecil, and Hubert, both of Converse; three daughters, Mrs. Odie Williams of Tyler, Mrs. Eutha Mains of Many, Mrs. Dorothy O'Quinn of Metairie; three brothers, Burton, Jessie, and Willie Bryant Brumley, all of Many; nineteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren. Mr. Brumley was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church for fifty odd years, member of Masonic Lodge.
