Funeral rites were held Jan. 17, at the Mount Zion Baptist Church, with Rev. Edgar Parker, and Rev. Roy Fleming officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, with Warren Funeral Home in charge. Surviving relatives are his widow of Carthage, Tex.; five sons, Emmitt of Overton, Tex., Tellous Brumley of Cotton Valley, Don of Cuero, Tex., Wilson of Rockport, Tex., Cedric of Baytown, Tex.; daughters, Mrs. Mae Ball, Houston, Mrs. Gene Barrett of Sealy, Tex.; one brother, Will of Houston; one sister, Mrs. Alice Rains, Shreveport; 26 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were U. S. McComic, Royce Lintiz, Ray Lites, Walter Brumley, Sam Webb, and Les Lites.
