The Sabine Index - Joe E. Browning

  23 Aug 1957 - Funeral services for Joe E. Browning, age 73, who
died at his home near Peason Saturday, Aug. 17 was conducted at
Mt. Carmel Baptist church at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 with Rev.
Kenneth Jones officiating, assisted by Rev. Bruce Horton.
Interment was in church cemetery under the direction of Warren
Funeral home.

  Survivors are wife, Mrs. J. E. Browning, of Florien, three
sons, Edward, of Florien, C. A. of Ft. Pearce, Fla., and E. H. of
Shreveport, daughters, Mrs. Monroe Edwards of Shreveport, Mrs. J.
C. Slaughter, of Florien, Mrs. P. L. Hill of Holopaw, Fla.;
brothers, Charlie and Albert of Hornbeck; E. C., Florien, Woodrow
of Shreveport, Allen of Leesville, Winfree of Arizona; sisters,
Mrs. Ophelia Mitchell of Louisville, Mrs. Hettie Rachell of
Provencal, Mrs. Ocie Williams of Trout, Mrs. Lonnie Webb of
Alexandria, Ms. Hazel Golden of Shreveport and Mrs. Bertie
Nileman of Tullos, 21 grandchildren and four great
grandchildren.
