All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index Elmer Hoyt Browning - April 14, 1988 Services were conducted at Centuries Memorial Fun Road for Mr. Elmer Hoyt Browning, 70, of Shreveport, at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 11. Dr. Louis White of Lakeview Baptist Church officiated, assisted by Chaplain Troy Hall and the Rev. Steve Slaughter. Interment was a Centuries Memorial Park. Mr. Browning entered into rest Saturday, April 9, 1988 at P & S Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native a Peason, La. and had been a resident of Shreveport for 34 years. Mr. Browning was the owner of Browning Construction Company and an active member of Lakeview Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Browning was born April 19, 1917 and was the son of the late J. E. and Leta Browning. Survivors are his wife, Beatrice McCollough Browning of Shreveport; one daughter, Bonnie S. Marston and husband, Davis, of Shreveport; two sons, H. E. "Gene" Browning and his wife Regina of Elysian Fields, Texas and Dr., Bob Browning and his wife, Chris of Waxahachie, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Winnie Slaughter of Peason; two brothers, Edward Browning of Peason and Coyle A. Browning of Fort Pierce, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were John Shaughnessy, Gary Walker, Paul Scott, Jimmy Rodgers, Glen Kent and Max Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers: deacons and members of the Character Builders Sunday School Class of Lakeview Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to "Together We Build", Lakeview Baptist Church.
