James J. Cobbs

  Mr. James J. Cobbs, 67, of Marthaville, died Friday, Aug. 4,
in Shreveport, after an extended illness.

  He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ila Mae Cobbs of Marthaville;
five daughters, Mrs. Opal Forsyth, and Mrs. Mary Calvert, both of
Shreveport, Mrs. Merle Coco of New Iberia, Mrs. Mozelle Cote of
Natchitoches, and Miss Hazel Cobbs, Dallas; one son, George Ottis
Hinton of Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Valorie Strahan of Belmont;
and one brother, A. A. Cobbs of Belmont; 18 grandchildren, and six
great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 6, at 2 p.m., in the
Pisgah Baptist Church, with the Rev. W. C. Crosby officiating.
Burial was in the Pisgah Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home.
