Cobbs 20 May 1949 - George D. Cobbs, 72, subscummed suddenly to a heart attack Saturday. Requiem mass was conducted at St. John's Catholic church at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Father J. A. Benoit, pastor, was the celebrant. Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home. Pallbearers were Francis Buvens, Cleveland Hubley, Jack Hubley, Keith Cobbs, Austin Dees and Bernice Cobbs. Surviving relatives include: wife, Mrs. George D. Cobbs, Many; son, George D. Cobbs, Jr., Jena; daughters, Mrs. W. Bryan and Mrs. W. H. Andries, Baton Rouge, Mrs. K. L. Youngblood of Monroe; brothers, Plummer and Charles Cobbs, Pleasant Hill, Cleve Cobbs, Natchitoches; sisters, Mrs. Clarence Brown, DeRidder, Mrs. Bill Manning, Eudora, Ark., Mrs. Calvin Dees, DeRidder, and 10 grandchildren. Mr. Cobbs had been engaged in the life insurance business practically all his life and was well known in the insurance fraternity.
