Cobbs, 55, of Pleasant Hill, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 2, at First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill. Officiating the services were Rev. Stephen Pyle, and the Rev. Vernon Stephenson. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Rose-Neath's Mansfield Chapel. Mr. Cobbs passed away Thursday, November 30, at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was a native, and lifelong resident of Pleasant Hill, a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill, a Sabine Parish Sheriff Deputy, and Chief of Police in Pleasant Hill for 16 years. Mr. Cobbs was a member of the Louisiana Police Association, and a charter member of the Pleasant Hill Loin's Club. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Bertha Cobbs of Pleasant Hill; two sons, Danny Ray Cobbs, and Tommy Lynn Cobbs; one daughter, Bobbye Jean Brian, all of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Loyce Cartinez of Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Charles Cobbs of Pleasant Hill, and Doug Cobbs of Shreveport; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Doyle Stockton, Harold Dillard, James McComic, Alfice Brumley, Bobby Brumley, Tommy Raimond, Jeff Veuleman, and Jerry Don Campbell. Honorary pallbearers were Steve Campbell, George Shannon, Johnnie (Buster) Jones, Perry Scott, Rock Tyler, Jim Veuleman, Guffy Lynn Pattison, and Sabine Parish Sheriff Department officers and employees. The family requests that memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
