All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Raymond Orel Cobbs Sr. (Photo) Services for Raymond Orel Cobbs Sr., 72, of Shreveport, were held Monday, June 26, at 11:30 a.m., at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. The Rev. Mike McLaurin, pastor of North Keithville Baptist Church, officiated. Graveside services were held at Springridge Cemetery near Pleasant Hill. Mr. Cobbs died Friday, June 23, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Springridge, and resided in Shreveport for 39 years. He was a driller for Wheless Drilling Co., a member of Westside Baptist Church, and a member of the American Legion, Oliff Fair Post, and V.F.W. Post #2238. Mr. Cobbs was a veteran of the United States Army, having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Cobbs. Survivors include two sons, Raymond and Mary Cobbs of Greenville, Tex., and Tommy and Debbie Cobbs of Shreveport; three daughters, Miriam Martin of Shreveport, Judy and Mike Lee of Blanchard, and Cindy Neatherly of Shreveport; one sister, Biddie Urda of Pleasant Hill; one brother, Richard Wayne Cobbs of San Antonio, Tex.; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. His grandsons served as pallbearers.
