Copeland, 72, were held Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m., at Calvary Baptist Church in Dundee, Florida, under the direction of Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Lamar Lifer officiated. A Moose Lodge Memorial service was also held. Mr. Copeland passed away on December 7, 1994, at Winterhaven Hospital, Winterhaven, Florida. Mr. Copeland was born in Oak Grove, of Sabine Parish, and was a resident of Shreveport, before moving to Dundee, Fla., 14 years ago. Mr. Copeland was a veteran of WWII, and retired from the U.S.A.F., after serving 23 years. He was also retired from the Chamber of Commerce in Shreveport, after working there for 12 years. Mr. Copeland was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Dundee, Fla., and a member of the Moose Lodge, and Elks Club. Survivors include his widow, Gerta Copeland of Dundee, Fla.; two sons, Jack Copeland Sr. of Shreveport, and Walter Berandt of Winterhaven Fla.; three daughters, Carolyn Crone of Shreveport, Marcia Tolleson of Mineola, Tex., and Mimi Anderson of Garden Grove, Fla.; and one brother, Ray F. Copeland of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two nephews; and one niece.
