Cooper, 91, of DeRidder, died Saturday, October 1, 1983, in the Beauregard Memorial Hospital, at 8:15 a.m. Services were Monday, October 3, at 2 p.m., in the Beauregard Funeral Home Chapel, DeRidder, with Rev. Emory Wallace, and Rev. John Vess officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery. Mr. Cooper was a native of Many, and was a retired Lumberman with Longvill Lumber Co. He is survived by his wife, Lois Cooper of DeRidder; six daughters, Ervie Mae James, Earnestine Calloway, both of DeRidder, Pauline Ricks, Florien, Doris Ross, Houston, Tex., Brenda Bowers, Hugh, Okla., and Betty Lou Bledsoe, Ailene, Tex.; five sons, Clyde Cooper, DeRidder, Linwood J. Cooper, Groves, Tex., Roland E. Cooper, Crestview, Fla., R. C. Cooper, Ville Platte, and Ralph Hoeting, Pearland, Tex.; one sister, Katie Vines, Many; three brothers, Rueben Cooper, DeWitt Cooper, both of Many, and Luther Cooper, Bryan, Tex.; 41 grandchildren; and 39 great grandchildren.
