Cooper, 77, of Gloster, were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 12, at the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, with the Rev. Carter Olds, and the Rev. Stan McGee officiating. Burial was at Bethsadia Cemetery in Many. Mr. Cooper died Friday, February 10, 1989, at South Park Hospital, after a long illness. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church of Stonewall, La. He was born in Many, La., on December 19, 1911, and was retired from Kansas City Southern Railroad in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Jackson Cooper of Gloster; three sons, Harold Cooper of Marshall, Tex., Don Cooper of China Springs, Tex., and Fred Cooper of Shreveport; two daughters, Mary Cooper of Gloster, Wanda Cooper of Dallas, Tex.; four sisters, Viola McGee of Shreveport, Edna Cutwright of Many, Lorie Greer of Zwolle, Agnes Gunter of Mansfield; two brothers, J. W. Cooper of Mansfield, Bobby Cooper of Florien; 13 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and many dear friends. Pallbearers were Paul Tyler, Dr. Harold King, Johnny Mays, Frank Zellner, Jerry Parks, Don Mangum.
