Coburn died Friday, August 27, at William Beaumont Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, after being transferred from Raymond Bliss Army Hospital, Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Mr. Coburn was born Nov. 1, 1912, in Louisiana. He entered military service in 1935, serving in the Philippines and Europe before coming to Fort Huachuca in July of 1954, as a Lieutenant Colonel, and worked in civil service at the fort for the next 20 years. Mr. Coburn is survived by his wife, Edna M. Trautman Coburn; two sons, Jeffrey A., and Barry L. Coburn of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; two daughters, Dana A. Christi of Cleveland, Ohio, and Barby L. Jones of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; three brothers, the Rev. Curtis Coburn of Kentucky, Maj. (Ret) Truman Coburn of Georgia, and Dr. Thurman Coburn of Oklahoma; two sisters, Anna Mae Chandler of Louisiana, and Wilma Whaley of Kentucky. Services were held August 31, at the Main Chapel on Fort Huachuca, with Pastor James L. Miner of Sierra Vista Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment followed at the Post Cemetery, with full military honors. Pallbearers were Fred Otto, Phil Olson, Mark Aubrey, Gene King, Mike King, and Tim Mize. Adair's Mission was in charge of arrangements.
