Coburn, born July 27, 1921, in Florien, La., died Sept. 22, 1987, was married to Dr. Thurman Coburn in 1944. One son, Gene, preceded her in death in 1967. She graduated from Hot Springs, Arkansas High School in 1937, and attended Bethany Nazarene College in 1939. She graduated from Middle, Tenn. State University, Murfreesburo, Tenn., in 1944. She taught School in Tenn., upon graduation, and came to Bethany Okla. In 1948, where she taught in Bethany High School until retirement. She as a member of the Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, where she worked in the children's department in her earlier years. She was an organizer, and an active member of Faculty Dames of Bethany Nazarene College for many years. She is survived by husband, Thurman; sister, Lora Lee Dunkin of Okla. City; four brothers, Harold Knippers of Bethany, Chaplain Shural G. Knipers of Okla. City, Judge Otis Knippers of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and Dr. Cecil Knippers of Bethany, Okla. Service was at 11 a.m., Friday, at Bethany First Nazarene Church, with entombment in Resurrection Mausoleum, directed by Guardian West.
