Rev. Owen Lofton, and Rev. Jimmy McDonald officiated. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Coburn, 56, of Florien, died Sunday, April 3, 1994, in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. Mrs. Coburn was a native of Peason, La., and a homemaker. She was a member of Middle Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Herman Cook; and a grandson, Steven Adams. Survivors include her husband, James A. Coburn of Florien; three sons, Delbert Cook, and John Cook, both of Florien, and Durrel Cook of Hornbeck; four daughters, Debbie Adams of Afton, Okla., Pam Whitehead of Provencal, La., Marie Cook of Chillicothe, Mo., and Betty Weldon of Lone Star, Tex.; her father, Cecil Eason of Florien; three stepsons, James Ray Coburn of Vowells Mill, La., Kenneth Coburn of Florien, and Malcolm Coburn of Colmesneil, Tex.; two sisters, Georgia Porsche of Houston, and Sue Isgitt of Many; 18 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
