All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** James Artis Coburn Funeral services were held for Mr. James Artis Coburn, 72, of Florien, at 3 p.m., on Saturday, February 25, 1995, at the Middle Creek Baptist Church, under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Rev. Owen Lofton, and Rev. Jimmy McDonald officiated the services. Interment followed at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Florien. Mr. Coburn died on Thursday, February 23, 1995, at the Sabine Medical Center. Mr. Coburn was a native of Middle Creek, La. He was an ambulance orderly and medic in the US Army. He was also a member of the Middle Creek Baptist Church. He was retired from State Forestry Service as Tireman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann. She is survived by three sons, Malcolm Eugene Coburn and his wife Rose of Colmesneil, Tex., Kenneth Leo Coburn and his wife Jan of Florien, James Ray Coburn and his wife Ramona of Vowells Mill, La.; one daughter, Betty Sue Weldon and her husband Sherman of Lone Star, Tex.; two sisters, Ruby Gandy of Florien, and Debby Mullin of Fullerton, Miss.; two brothers, Joe Coburn, and Mark Coburn, both of Fullerton, Miss.; four grandsons, Douglas Eugene Coburn, Thomas Lyn Coburn, Justin Ryan Coburn, and Joshua Blake Coburn. Pallbearers were Kevin Harrington, Norman Harrington, Thomas Lynn Coburn, Leslie Coburn, Otis Franton, and Douglas Coburn. Honorary pallbearers were Justin Coburn, and Joshua Coburn.
