James Artis Coburn

  Funeral services for James Artis Coburn, 72, of Florien, were
held at 3 p.m., Feb. 25, at Middle Creek Baptist Church.

  Rev. Owen Lofton, and Rev. Jimmy McDonald officiated. Interment
was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Florien, under the direction of
Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, Natchitoches.

  Mr. Coburn passed away on Feb. 24, at Sabine Medical Center.

  Mr. Coburn was a native of Middle Creek. He was also an
ambulance orderly, and medic in the U. S. Army, and a member of
the Middle Creek Baptist Church.

  Survivors include three sons, Malcom Eugene Coburn and his wife
Rose of Colmesneil, Tex., Kenneth Leo Coburn and his wife Jan of
Florien, James Ray Coburn and his wife Ramona of Vowells Mill;
one daughter, Betty Sue Weldon and her husband Sherman of Long
Star, Tex.; two sisters, Ruby Gandy of Florien, and Debbie Mullin
of Fullerton, Miss.; two brothers, Joe Coburn, and Mark Coburn,
both of Fullerton, Miss.; four grandsons, Douglas Eugene Coburn,
Thomas Lynn Coburn, Justin Ryan Coburn, and Joshua Blake Coburn.

  Pallbearers were Kevin Harrington, Norman Harrington, Thomas
Lynn Coburn, Leslie Coburn, Otis Franton, and Douglas Coburn.
