Cook, 82, of Many, died in Heritage Manor Nursing Home on Friday, Feb. 17, at 8:30 p.m., following an extended illness. Survivors include her husband, Barnie Cook of Many; a son, Gordon Cook of Many; four daughters, Mrs. Reba Hyatt of Florien, Mrs. Woodie Poynter of Many, Mrs. Alice Griffith of Roslyn, Penn., and Mrs. Evelyn Green of Bossier City; a brother, C. C. Coburn of Provencal; a sister, Mrs. Mae Williams of Rosepine; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Middle Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, Feb. 29, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Marvin Brown officiated. Burial was in the Middle Creek Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
