J. P. King, Rev. Paul Carter and Rev. Roy Flurry officiating. Pallbearers: Odis Kelly, Leon McQueen, Luther Funderburk, Clarence Bush, Leo Corley and Howard Salter. Survivors are, wife, S. W. Cook of Florien, sons Charlie W. Cook of Many, James Robert Cook of Florien, daughter Lee Holdman of Natchitoches, brothers, Irvin, Luman, Harvey and Victor Cook all of ist Church with Rev. Kelly Fitzgerald officiating, assisted by Rev. Vercie Miller. Interment was in Newton Cemetery, Newton, Texas under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: W. N. Wright, A. W. Curtis, Wiley Cummings, J. S. Salter, Jeff Carter and Alton Isgitt. Survivors are wife, Mrs. J. P. Fortenberry of Negreet, son Walter Fortenberry, Newton, Texas; daughters, Mrs. R. W. Cordon of Mooringsport, Miss Bessie Fortenberry of Port Arthur, brothers, Burl, Sidney, Stanley, Oran and Wilton Fortenberry, all of Tylertown, Miss., sisters, Mrs. Essie Kennedy of Angie, La., 5 grandchildren.
