All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Doris Beatrice Cook Mrs. Doris Beatrice Cook, 79, of Many, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at North Sabine Nursing Home. Mrs. Cook was born August 15, 1921, in Belmont, to parents Elijah Thomas Carter and Hattie Beatrice carter. She was employed as a social worker, and is a member of the First Baptist Church of Many. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home, with interment following at Bethany Cemetery in Marthaville. Dr. Vernon Stephenson officiated. Survivors include two daughters, Carol C. Pattison and husband Guffey Lynn of Pleasant Hill, and Sidney Lou Navarra and husband Richard of Independence; one sister, Esther Yearwood of Pleasant Hill; and three sisters-in-law, Sallie Cook Salter of Tullos, Mary Carter of Arkansas, and Evelyn Carter of Texas; two grandchildren, Clay Henry, and Brittany Navarra; and a host of friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband, former sheriff George Cook. The family offers their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Jack Corley, Robby Lang, and Sandra Brandon. Special thanks go to North Sabine Nursing Home, Mrs. Louise Bell, nurses, and nurse's aides. The family would also like to express a thanks to Phyllis Osby, Diane Williams, and Lucy Patrick, for their devoted care and love. Pallbearers were Robert Ammons, Roy Bridges, John Curtis, Robert Gentry, Robbie Lang, and Herman Lawson.
