Mrs. Cook was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending church, watching wrestling on television, and playing with her puppy, that she called Blackie Cook. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, April 2, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, with interment following at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Many. The Rev. Mike Henderson, pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, officiated, and the Rev. George Parlor assisted. Survivors include her husband, Samuel J. Cook of Many; three daughters, Betty Anders and husband Earl, and Judy Cook, both of Many, and Sammie McFerrin and husband Glenn of Lafayette; two sisters, Lucille Brown and husband Jack of San Augustine, Texas, and Wilma Gregory and husband Carl of Conroe, Texas; one brother, Elton Craig and wife Shirley of Ennis, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and a host of friends. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by one son, Acie O'Banion; parents, Arthur and Carrie Craig; and two sisters, Lavern Brown, and Clovis Webb. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jack Akins, Kenny Heath, Jerry Dew, Joey Burleigh, Mark Burleigh, and Jerry Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Glenn McFerrin, and Earl Anders.
