Odell Chism Sr.

  Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m., in the
Union Baptist Church, for Odell Chism Sr., of Florien, who died
at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, at 11:35 a.m., on
Thursday, Sept. 24. Mr. Chism was 73.

  Officiating at the services were the Rev. John Thompson, the
Rev. C. H. Welch, and the Rev. Doyle Carpenter. Burial was in the
Prospect Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows
Funeral Home.

  Survivors include three sons, Carl W. Chism of Fort Worth, Tex.,
Garland M. Chism of Shreveport, and Clarence Chism Jr. of
Logansport; three daughters, Mrs. Marcia Thompson of Florien,
Mrs. Hilda Brown of Hornbeck, and Miss Glynda Chism of
Natchitoches; one sister, Mrs. Violet Watson of Ferris, Tex.; 14
grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren;
and 1 step great-great grandchild.
