Kirk G. Cockerham

  Mr. Kirk George Cockerham, 73 of DeQuincy, died in Many Friday,
Sept. 15, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Christine Cockerham of DeQuincy; one son, George L.
Cockerham of Dequincy; three daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Carlson;
Mrs. Betty Joe Brown, and Mrs. Emily Lou Ellis, all of Dequincy,
La., and Mrs. Gladys Thomas of Many; one brother, Percy
Cockerham of Norman, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. Gussie Pfoertner
of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held at the Snider Funeral Home Chapel;
Sunday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Byrd Terry
officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery,
under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  The body was taken to DeQuincy at 7 a.m., Saturday morning, to
lie in state at the Snider Funeral Home, until service time Sunday.
