Cockerham Mr. Kirk George Cockerham, 73 of DeQuincy, died in Many Friday, Sept. 15, after an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Christine Cockerham of DeQuincy; one son, George L. Cockerham of Dequincy; three daughters, Mrs. LaVerne Carlson; Mrs. Betty Joe Brown, and Mrs. Emily Lou Ellis, all of Dequincy, La., and Mrs. Gladys Thomas of Many; one brother, Percy Cockerham of Norman, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. Gussie Pfoertner of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Snider Funeral Home Chapel; Sunday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Byrd Terry officiating. Interment was in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. The body was taken to DeQuincy at 7 a.m., Saturday morning, to lie in state at the Snider Funeral Home, until service time Sunday.
