All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Jewel Coughran Mrs. Jewel Inez Coughran, a sister of two local ladies, died at her home in San Diego, California on Wednesday, Sept. 27, following a short illness. She was 75. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Sept. 30, with burial in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home in Abilene, Tex. The Rev. Dalton Fisher, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Coughran was born Jewel Inez Wood on March 27, 1903, in Coleman, Tex., to the late T. T. and Lillie Maude Wood. She was raised and educated in Abilene. Mrs. Coughran was preceded in death by her husband, Pliny Bascom Coughran, in 1943. In 1944, she moved to California, and in recent years, had been manager of apartment houses. Survivors include two sisters, Lillie Mae Baldridge, and Lula Ray Watson, both of Many; a nephew, E. T. Baldridge of Many; and several other nieces and nephews.
