J. Jacobs officiating. Burial was in Sardis cemetery under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home. Mrs. Cates was killed Monday near Converse in a collision which also took the life of Jerry Lynn Simmons, 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Simmons of the Mitchell community. Mrs. Cates is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. L. Sherwood of Rose, Texas, and Mrs. C. B. Rasco of Groves, Texas; two sons, Wilson Cates of Graves and Boyd Cates of Port Arthur, Texas; four brothers, Milton Keys of Biloxi, Miss., Proctor and Boyce Keyes of Lucedale, Miss., and Ras Bert Keyes of Pennsylvania; six sisters, Mrs. M. D. Solomon, Mrs. Gay Hudson and Mrs. Curtis Howard of Lucedale, Mrs. Doris Blackwell of Mindenhall, Miss., Mrs. L. D. Bryant of Taylorsville, Miss., and Mrs. Maxwell Hinton of Minden.
