  James T. Cates Sr.

  James Thomas Cates, Sr. 75, of Converse died Saturday, Aug. 11,
in Many following a long illness.

  Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m. in the Drewett
Memorial Chapel in Mansfield with the Rev. H. M. Roach
officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jim Constable. Burial was in
the Oak Grove Cemetery near Converse.

  Survivors include his widow; a son, James T. Cates Jr. of
Converse; four grandchildren and one great grandchild; a brother,
J. E. Cates of Nobl; and a sister, Mrs. Sallie Tatum of
Mansfield.
