Cates, who died at the Allen Sanitarium Monday, Jan. 12, were conducted at the Fellowship Baptist Church at 2 p.m., Jan. 13, with Rev. Versie Miller, Rev. Joel Harris, and Rev. Don Miers officiating. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. W. C. Cates of Converse; sons, W. B. of Jennings, Willie Allen of New Orleans, Billy Hugh of Shreveport, George of Northwestern Natchitoches; brothers, J. E. Cates of Noble, J. T. Cates of Converse; sisters, Mrs. A. F. Henderson, Mrs. G. C. Magness, and Mrs. W. E. Jackson, all of Converse, Mrs. C. W. Tatum of Mansfield; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were his nephews.
