All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Sonya Cutright (Photo) Funeral services for Sonya Cutright, 30, of Zwolle, were held at the Zwolle High School Auditorium on Sunday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. The Rev. A. B. Williams delivered the funeral oration, with scriptures read by Mary Harrington and Doris Belon, ministers. Prayer was led by Rose Mary Sneed, minister, with the obituary read by Mrs. Patrice Polk. Tributes were read by Charles Miller, and Ron Wagner, with William Ruffin offering a solo. Interment was at Garden of Memories in Zwolle, following the services. Sonya died on Thursday, Jan. 21, at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, following a lengthy illness. Born on Sept. 12, 1968, in Zwolle, to Aggie Cutright Babers and Garland Ford Sr., Sonya united with the Mount Calvary Baptist Church at an early age. Over the years, she was a Sunday School teacher, Assistant Secretary, Mission Band member, and faithful choir member. She accepted her call into the ministry on Nov. 7, 1993, and was licensed by pastor Bobby Brown in March, 1994. She used her many talents as an evangelist. A graduate of Zwolle High, Sonya received a B.S. degree in Social Work from Grambling State University in May, 1991. While at GSU, she was a member of the Baptist Student Union, and sang in the choir. Survivors include her daughter, Iesha Cutright of Zwolle; a godson, Jarmarkus Thompson; her mother and stepfather, Aggie and Harry Babers; her father and stepmother, Garland and Juanita Ford; godmother, Pamela Booth; grandparents, the Rev. and Mrs. A. B. Williams; five aunts, Joan Cutright, Carolyn Cutright, Margie Cutright, Glen Maxie, and Elvie Williams; three half sisters; and two half brothers, Camelis Sharonda, Melinda, Garland Jr., and Marlon Ford; three stepsisters; and three stepbrothers, Harry Jr., Dexter, Sebastian, Lisa, Stephanie, and Metria; two play sisters, Stephanie Mitchell, and Lisa Johnson; two great aunts; one great uncle; and a host of relatives and friends. Active pallbearers were Jimmie Davis, Danny Lynch, LaVester Lynch, Rayford Sims, Jerry Williams, and Jessie Williams.
