All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Oscar Cleveland 29 Apr 1938 - Last rites for Oscar Cleveland, age 61 years, a native son of Sabine, was held Wednesday evening at 3 p.m. from the residence of his sister, Mrs. J. H. McNeely. Rev. C. W. Williams, assisted by Revs. J. B. Williams and L. N. Hoffpauir conducted the services, interment in the Many cemetery. Active pallbearers: W. M. Knott, J. J. Blake, J. B. Vandegaer, J. M. Jordan, O. E. Williams, Jno. V. Nash. Mr. Cleveland passed away at Houston, Texas, where he had made his home for the past several years. The deceased is a son of the late W. B. Cleveland, being born in Sabine parish October 9, 1876, for many years being in business here, also served as the first cashier of the Peoples State Bank on its organization in 1913. He married Miss Claudie SoRelle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Don E. SoRelle. Surviving is the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Ellen Cleveland Rock; his step-mother, Mrs. W. B. Cleveland; one brother Harvey Cleveland and one sister, Mrs. J. H. McNeely.
