Caldwell, 80, of Shreveport died at 4:15 a.m. Friday, June 12, following an extended illness. Funeral services were held in Oak Hill Baptist Church, with the Rev. H. E. Henderson, and the Rev. J. P. King officiating Saturday, June 13, at 2 p.m. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Surviving relatives include two sons, Speight Caldwell of Minden, and Glen Caldwell of Pelican; three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Simmons of Ruston, Mrs. Willa Randolph, and Mrs. Roma Caldwell, both of Shreveport; a brother, J. W. Caldwell of Many, and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robert Speight, Emmett Caldwell, Coleman Hippler, Horace Maxey, Wayne Callaway, and Gordon Creed.
