A memorial service was held Thursday, June 22, at 5 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home of Port Arthur. Funeral services and burial were held at the Oak Hill Baptist Church and Cemetery near Many, on Friday, June 23, at 2 p.m. A native of Sabine Parish, Mrs. Caldwell lived in the Port Arthur area for 49 years. She retired for P.A.I.S.D. Food Services, as cashier, with 22 years of service. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. Survivors include four sons, Billy Caldwell of Beaumont, Michael Caldwell, Edward Caldwell, and Terry Caldwell, all of Port Arthur; three grandchildren, Missy Caldwell of Houston, Devin Caldwell of Bridge City, Tex., and Edward Lee Caldwell Jr. of Missouri; and three sisters, Lola Walker of Shreveport, Oleta Thornton of Marshall, Tex., and Laura Woodle of Many. Pallbearers at the graveside included Dwight Rashal, Floyd Woodle, Jerry Woodle, Richard Woodle, Mark Gribbin, and Gary Carroll.
