Van Buren Colton

  Services for Mr. Van Buren Colton, 83, of Converse, were at 2
p.m., Sunday, August 9, at Drewett Memorial Chapel in Mansfield.
Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Converse, under the direction
of Drewett Funeral Home.

  He died Friday morning, August 7, at DeSoto General Hospital in
Mansfield, following a long illness. Mr. Colton, a retired
carpenter, was a native of Converse.

  Mr. Colton is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mattie Fuller Colton;
and daughter, Mrs. Vivian Craig of Converse; two sons, Gerald
Colton of Ruston, and Martin L. Colton of Shreveport; one sister,
Mrs. Leatha Clanton of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and
eleven great grandchildren.
