All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Charles Gordon Cloutier, Sr. Funeral Mass for Charles Gordon Cloutier, Sr., was celebrated Monday, Oct. 6, at 10:30 a.m., at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Shreveport, followed by burial in Forest Park Cemetery. Father Gerald Foley, pastor, officiated, assisted by Msgr. Carson LaCaze, a former pastor, Father Phillip Postell, S. J., Mrs. Cloutier's nephew, and two of her cousins, Msgr. John C. Vandegaer, and Father Edward Buvens, S. J. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m., on Oct. 5, at Osborn's Funeral Home. Mr. Cloutier died at Schumpert Hospital on Oct. 3, after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Andries Cloutier, and four children; major Charles Gordon Cloutier, Jr., of Doyline, Mrs. Marilyn Lelong of Mobile, Alabama, Mrs. Sylvia Clark of Dallas, Tx., and Mrs. Sara Looney of Fairfax, Virginia; one brother, P. A. Cloutier of Campti, and seven grandchildren. Mr. Cloutier was principal of Fisher High School, and Campti High School at one time. He was married to the former Teresa Andries, a native of Many. Mr. Cloutier served with various federal state, and local governmental agencies for 45 years. He was District Supervisor for Vocational Rehabilitation for 21 years, the joined the Caddo Parish Welfare Dept. as Community Work and Training Coordinator of the Title V Program of the Economic Opportunity Act. He retired in 1969, as Supervisor of the Caddo Parish Welfare Department's work incentive program for the Division Employment Security. He is a life member of the National Rehabilitation Association, a member of the Louisiana Rehabilitation Association, the National Education Association, and the Louisiana Retired Teachers Association. He was a member of the Board of directors of the Community Council for Caddo and Bossier Parishes, for several years, chairing and serving on numerous committees. Pallbearers were Mr. Sam DeFatta, Mr. John Lotspeich, Mr. Arnold Falk, Mr. T. B. Ligon, Mr. Joe Vance, Mr. Hubert Moreau, Mr. W. T. Lestage, and Mr. Bubba Readhimer. The family of Mr. Cloutier requests that any memorials be made to the scholarship fund of Jesuit High School in his name.
