(Tess) Cloutier, 76, were held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 3, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Father Leger Tremblay, pastor of the church, officiated, assisted by Msgr. John Vandegaer, Father Phillip Postell, S. J. Father Edward Buvens, and Msgr. Carson Lacaze. Interment was at Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home. A Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 2. The body laid in state at Osborn's. Mrs. Cloutier died at 4:20 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, at Schumpert Medical Center, after a long illness. Mrs. Cloutier, a native of Many, and a resident of Shreveport for 37 years, was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was always very active in church and charitable work of all kinds. She was a Past Grand Regent, and member of the local Court of Catholic Daughters of America for 40 years, and officer of the State Court of the CDA for several years, member of the Sacred Heart League, Our Lady's Guild, Samaritans of Holy Rosary Parish, and St. Rapiels Guild. Mrs. Cloutier was the first President of the Shreveport Deanery Council of Catholic Women, having been appointed by Bishop Charles P. Greco of Alexandria. She also has served for a number of years on the Lay Retreat Advisory Board at Maryhill Retreat House. She was a recipient of a plaque for outstanding and devoted work in her parish, and received a medal from Bishop Graves of the Alexandria/Shreveport Diocese. Survivors include one son, Major C. G. Cloutier, (retired), of Doyline; three daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Lelong of Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Sylvia Clark of Dallas, Tex., and Dr. Sara Looney of Burke, Va.; two sisters, Miss Lenora Andries, and Mrs. W. D. Postell of New Orleans; two brothers, Mr. W. H. Andries of Baton Rouge, and Mr. P. D. Andries of Dallas; and seven grandchildren. Pallbearers were Mr. San Defatta, Mr. W. T. Lestoge, Mr. Ben Ligon, Mr. Henry Lotspelch, Mr. Hubert Moreay, Mr. W. H. Readhlmer, and Mr. Prentiss Wilks, Jr. Mrs. Cloutier was the daughter of Julian J. and Blanche Blake Andries of Many. The family requests memorials be made to the Holy Rosary Catholic School.
