Officiating was the Rev. Bill Stowell, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Burial was in the Forest Park West. Mr. Childress died suddenly at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 17, following a motorcycle accident. He was born in Natchitoches, and was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. He was a material handler at General Electric. Mr. Childress was a graduate of Woodlawn High School, class of 1978, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. B. Childress, Shreveport; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Dewey Raborn, Converse; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Pepper, Jonesboro; and two sisters, Dawn Britt Childress, and Shawn Childress, both of Shreveport.
