Houston Monroe Childress Jr.

  Mr. Houston Monroe Childress Jr., 48, of Converse, died in
Pleasant Hill, on Nov. 4, 1987.

  Services were held at the First Baptist Church of Converse, on
Nov. 6, at 2 p.m., with Bro. Marshall Engle, and Bro. James
Miller officiating. Burial was at Wallace Cemetery, under the
direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Procell Childress of
Converse; his mother, Elizabeth Childress of Converse; four step
children, Tommy Paddie of Shreveport, John Paddie of Converse,
Gracie Ebarb of Ebarb, and Marie Blankenship of Shreveport; three
brothers, Joseph Childress of Grand Cane, Dan Childress of
Converse, and M. B. Childress of Shreveport; one sister, Virginia
Spencer of Fayetteville, Ark.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
