All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Clora Ann Barrett Patton Callahan Services for Mrs. Clora Ann Barrett Patton Callahan, 42, of Shreveport, were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, in Benevolent Chapel on Milam St., Shreveport. The Rev. F. Caldwell officiated., Services continued in Many, La., at the Bethel Baptist Church, Wednesday, August 24, at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Many. She died Thursday, August 18, 1983, at Schumpert Medical Center. Mrs. Callahan received her B. A. Degree at Grambling State University, and Masters degree from Northwestern University. She taught at Newton Smith, and Werner Park Elementary Schools. Mrs. Callahan taught in the public schools of Caddo Parish for 20 years, having taught at the Newton Smith, where she did her student teaching, and Werner Park. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Many, where the Rev. James McCain is pastor. Mrs. Callahan was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church, where Rev. A. Webber was pastor. Survivors include her husband, Mr. Ardrain Callahan; her parents, Mr. Edward, and Mrs. Essie Barrett of Many; three sisters, Mrs. Connie White of Palo Alto, Calif., Mrs. Clara Bell White, and Mrs. Edwina Williams of Many; two sons, Harold, and Warren; three brothers-in-law; and other relatives. Close sisterly friends, Mrs. Helen Williams Paige of Bossier, and Mrs. Eunice Stull, and Mrs. Mary Thomas of Shreveport; brotherly friend, Mr. Donald Newton of Shreveport.
