Interment followed in the Omaha Cemetery, under the direction of Alexandria Funeral Home. Mr. Calhoun passed away Saturday, July 10, 1993, at his residence in Many. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dekalb, Tex., was a volunteer fireman for the city of Dekalb, Texas, Willis Texas, and Vivian, La. He was a member of the Dekalb Lodge #9 A&FM, Shriners, U.S. Air Force, World War II, American Legion Post 0332 of Dekalb, Tex., past president of the Vivian Jaycee, deputy for the Bowie County Sheriff Dept. reserve, New Boston Police Dept., member of the Red cross and CPR, attended Texarkana College, and Kilgore Police Academy, worked for G.T.E. (combination man) for 37 years. Mr. Calhoun is survived by his wife, Imogene Calhoun of Many; two sons, Ray Arnold and his wife Sharman Calhoun of New Caney, Tex., and Rodney Gene and his wife Janet Calhoun of Albany; foster daughter, Gittie Thomassen of Odense, Denmark; two sisters, Lois and her husband Marvin Crawford of Frankson, Tex., and Helen and her husband Pat Pool of Dangerfield, Tex.; four brothers, George W. and his wife Wanda Calhoun of San Antonio, Tex., James and his wife Theo Calhoun of Union, Missouri, Bill and his wife Bess Calhoun of Lufkin, Tex., Bob and his wife Martha Calhoun of Naples, Tex.; three sisters-in-law, Icilus Hollomon of Many, Rena Fogle of Dallas, Tex., and Betty Calhoun of Dangerfield, Tex.; four grandchildren, Brandon, Kira, Brittany, and Tristan Calhoun; and a host of nieces and nephews.
