Bessie Mae Callens (Photo)

  Bessie Mae Callens, 101, died Jan. 13, 2003, at Heritage Manor
Home in Natchitoches.

  Mrs. Callens retired from the Sabine Parish School Board, after
37 years of service.

  Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Jan. 16, at Warren
Meadows Funeral Home in Many, with interment following at Florien
Cemetery. The Rev. Delman Rogers, and the Rev. Bobby Franklin
officiated.

  Survivors included a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Dawson Jordan
and Lula Lilly Jordan; five brothers; and one sister.

  Pallbearers were deacons of the First Baptist Church in Florien.
