All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Hester Clark Hester Clark, 87, of Many, died at Fraser Hospital in Many, on Saturday, July 15, at 4 a.m., following an extended illness. Survivors include one son, Bob Clark of Many; one granddaughter, Emily Clark, and one grandson, Robert Clark; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the First United Methodist Church on Sunday, July 16, at 2 p.m. Officiating was the Rev. Ray R. Spiller, church pastor, Burial was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Jim Lyons, Marion Tannehill, John Skinner, Raymond Barnhill, William Lafitte, and Charlie B. Tramel. Honorary pallbearers were Truman Nichols, W. L. Edwards, Ted Dumas, and I. D. Bostain. Mrs. Clark was born on July 12, 1891, in Adams County, Illinois, and spent her childhood in Malta Bend, Missouri. In 1914, she moved to Fisher, where she was employed by the Louisiana Long Leaf Lumber Co. She later served as Postmaster of Fisher and Many for a number of years. In 1943, she went to work for the Town of Many, and worked as Town Clerk until retirement in 1967. Mrs. Clark was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Many, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
