He was an electrician, and a member of the Bossier Harley Owners Group. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., June 17, at Union Springs Baptist Church, with interment following at Union Springs Cemetery. The Rev. Weyland Gauntt, pastor of Magnolia Baptist Church in Saline, officiated, and the Rev. Don Slack, pastor of Union Springs Baptist Church, and the Rev. Joel Anderton, pastor of Henrietta Congregational Methodist Church, assisted. Survivors include his parents, Phillip and Regenia Chaney of Converse; sister, Vickie Chaney; grandmother, Grace Daugherty; nephew, Cameron Michael Chaney; and a host of friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Rannie L. Daugherty; and paternal grandparents, William H. Chaney, and Florine Chaney. Pallbearers were Ameal Armstrong, Justin Fisher, Pat Dobbs, Jamie Rascoe, Jeff Harrison, Blake McCollough, Michael Rascoe, Steve Procell, James Mathews, Dusty Carter, and Steve Smothers.
