Campbell Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, June 25, at the Southside Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home for Thayer James Campbell, 58, of Shreveport. The Rev. Raymond Kelly, pastor of Parkhurst Baptist Church, officiated. Burial followed in Centuries Memorial Park. Mr. Campbell died Saturday, June 23, at Willis-Knighton Hospital, after a short illness. A native of Noble, he had lived in Shreveport since 1947. He was a board watchman for the Shreveport Fire Department, and a member of Parkhurst Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Lois Campbell; a son, Dewayne Campbell of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Theo White of McCool Junction, Neb., and Mrs. Thelma Biegert of Phoenix, Ariz.; four brothers, S. L. Campbell of Zwolle; and Barney Campbell, Cleveland Campbell, and Robert Campbell, all of Orange, Texas; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dallas Greene, J. R. Fouts, Jack Lowe, J. A. Dauzat, Bill Jordan, D. C. Hall, C. E. Gates, and D. C. Glass.
