Interment followed in the Bayou Scie Methodist Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Brother C. E. Bell, and Brother Max McGough officiated. Mrs. Champion died May 27, in the Sabine Medical Center. She is survived by her husband, Herman Champion of Zwolle; daughter, Joy Fox Wells of Odom, Texas; step son, Herman Dwight Champion of Baltimore, Maryland; two step daughters, Helen Gifford of Sacramento, California, and Willie Lavern Emerson of Cabot, Arkansas; two brothers, Doyle Wright of Arlington, Texas, and Harold Wright of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Lola Bee McClintock of Converse, Verma Evelyn Magness of Orange, Texas, and Lorraine Looper of Dallas; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Albert, and Bobby Looper, Donnie, and Charlie Pat McClintock, Arvis, and Jerry Champion, and J. W. Pepper.
