Truett Chance

  Funeral services were held for Truett Chance, 64, of Florien, on
Thursday, July 11, at 2 p.m., at the Union Baptist Church, with
the Rev. C. V. Chance, the Rev. Clarence Welch, and John Thompson
officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery,
under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Chance died on Wednesday, July 19, at 11 a.m., in Shreveport.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Chance of Florien; 3
sons, the Rev. C. V. Chance of Hornbeck, Dr. Hoyt Chance of
Shreveport, and Mickey Truett Chance of Florien; 2 daughters,
Mrs. Elizabeth Chiwee Edwards of Dubberly, and Miss Carolyn Ann
Chance of Florien; 14 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Cleveland Chance
of Florien; and 1 sister, Mrs. Cora Belle Smith of Shreveport.
