James Norman Chance

  James Norman Chance, 65, died in Shreveport on Sunday, May 30,
at 10:50 p.m., following an extended illness.

  Funeral services were held at Florien Baptist Church on Tuesday,
June 1, at 3 p.m., with the Revs. Joe Shaver, Gill Arthur, and
Glenn Flennikin officiating. Burial was in the Florien Cemetery,
under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Chance of Florien; two
sons, Bobby Chance of Florien, and Gerald Chance of Hemphill; one
daughter, Renee Chance of Florien; one half-brother, Ulus Irby of
Florien; three sisters, Mrs. J. A. Behan of Hornbeck, Mrs. Sam
Leach of Natchitoches, and Mrs. Allison Arthur of Florien and one
granddaughter, Mealnie Chance.
